A rare Wächtersbach cocoa pot from the Haarlem series, Décor 2873 – white polka dots on an orange ground, produced using an elaborate resist technique.
Designed by Ursula Fesca in 1932, Décor 2873 became part of the Haarlem range from 1934/35 onwards and remained one of the most popular patterns of the Wächtersbach stoneware factory for decades. In the 1970s it enjoyed a revival under the name "Polka" – proof of its enduring appeal.
Ursula Fesca shaped the design language of Waechtersbach Keramik for over 30 years and is today regarded as one of the key figures of German Art Déco and Neue Sachlichkeit ceramics.
