Finely modeled porcelain figure from the Danish manufactory Dahl Jensen, Copenhagen. The “Hawaiian girl with bird” belongs to the exotic-inspired figure series of the 1920s/30s that made the workshop well known. The piece combines elegant lines with detailed hand painting and a calm, natural pose.
The design is attributed to Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen, founder and artistic director of the manufactory. Trained as a sculptor, Dahl-Jensen created numerous figure models that are now regarded as classics of Scandinavian porcelain art.
The figure is first quality, in flawless condition, and bears the original DJ Copenhagen stamp and model number 1268 on the base.
