Charming antique towel rack from around 1915–1920, likely from a traditional farmhouse kitchen. Originally painted white, it has since been stripped and left in its natural wood tone. The four original porcelain labels (“Gläsertuch”, “Tellertuch”, “Wischtuch”, “Handtuch”) are fully intact and feature a classic blue checkerboard design typical of the period.
The front rod was used to hang decorative cover towels (“Überhandtücher”) to conceal the functional towels beneath. A rare and beautiful piece of kitchen history – perfect for country-style kitchens, shabby chic interiors, or as a collectible decorative accent.
