Set of six tea cups from the Midcentury Modern period, 1950s.
Combination of solid teak base, lightly amber-tinted glass insert and wrapped handle. The design clearly recalls pieces created in the circle of
Carl Auböck, although no manufacturer can be confirmed.
The glass inserts sit within the teak holders and can be removed. The amber tint enhances the warm tone of the wood. The curved, wrapped handle construction is typical of 1950s material-focused design.
Clean lines, restrained form and functional construction – classic Midcentury Modern from the 1950s.
Manufacturer unknown.
